A Red & Green Christmas...

The sitting room is glittering and sparkling
in the gorgeousness of Christmas!
With a theme of red and green.
Dishes full of tinsel rope...
Red spotty reindeer's hand-crafted from felt.
Mini fabric teddy bear ornaments...
red and gold stars with sparkles...
A tin Santa at the top of the tree...
And pretty gingham bows...
A wreath and a Christmas bear...
And Santa too!
A little reminder, if friends have left gifts under the tree already...
'Do Not Open Till Christmas!'
Snowman and his Christmas present sack...
And sweet wee birds,
wearing hats!
A dove or two,
that represent peace...
Angelica the Christmas Angel bear
says "Merry Christmas to you'.
All hearts come home for Christmas.
Gracie said...
'Santa, I've been a good Doggie'...
There's bunting...
and a book paper butterfly...
I love the way the mantel looks!
So here's another pic!

In a basket... there's a sweet Christmas bird.

 And books all about Christmas!
Wishing all my friends and followers...
a merry happy and safe Christmas!

Arabella loves Christmas too!

Purple Christmas Wreath...

In LOVE with purple...
It is one of my most favourite colours!
This wreath was created to add a pop of purple
to the dining table for Christmas.
 Purples in all shades,
 Combined with white roses.
With a candle in a crystal bowl for the focal centrepiece...

And glittering filigree doves to symbolise peace...

All created on a willow wreath base...

Using artificial flowers...
and baubles.
Thank goodness for glue guns!

Add a little cut glass prettiness...

Place the wreath on a cake stand.
With a gingham (or plaid) table cloth.
Fill up the jar with lollies...
(well it was full...
but taking photographs requires some extra energy!)

And there you have a pretty bit of purple Christmas!

White & Silver Christmas...

Do you remember when I said I had planned a red and green Christmas...
Well that has changed a little....
because when I started to unpack the boxes
I found joyous Christmas bits and pieces!
All themed colour planning went West!
I do admire those fellow bloggers
with their colour themed rooms in single shades.
And I honestly had every intention to commit!
My planning list proves this.
But opening those boxes of colourful Christmas was just too much for me...
now my Christmas decor' is red, green and gold...
(as I had planned)
but also
aqua, silver and white...
there's even a hint of purple too!
I did manage to control my colour glee
so the colours were co-ordinated to specific areas of the house.
(All my one colour Christmas friends will be pleased to hear this!)

Here is a peek at the dining room.
Silver sparkles...
Glitter sparkles...
Frosty coloured beads with Aqua...
Silver baubles...
Believe sign...
Candles...
Butterflies...
Birds and snowflakes...
Christmas tree...
Tinsel and silver birds...
Hand-crafted peg angels...
Christmas smiles...
Isn't she funky with those wire legs?
Did I say candles?
Santa's...
And tiered cake plates
full of glittering baubles in all sizes...
OH HOW I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

DIY Christmas signs...

Sign making at Mia Bella Gardens was so much fun...
DIY Christmas signs to be precise.
I love the rustic look of pallet wood don't you?
Chopping up my pallet into usable pieces,
I thought I would make a JOY sign for the front porch...
And a BELIEVE sign for the sitting room.
I used red paint for the background of the 'JOY' sign,
and white for the 'BELIEVE' sign.
The paint was just dragged across the wood in a random manner
as I wanted the worn look of the pallet to show through.
Now I am the worst calligrapher ever,
so I cheated somewhat with my techniques.
I simply created lettering using word and computer fonts.
Enlarged them so they were the right size to fit my pallet strip.
Printed them.
Then cut each letter out.
The BELIEVE word was modpodged directly onto to the pallet.
(EASY PEASY!)
And it really did look good!
The JOY letters were used as a stencil.
Pencil outline on the pallet,
then painted in white paint.
Outline using a black paint marker...
then...
Give it all a coat of modpodge.
(These are not going to be in the weather elements,
but if they were,
I would probably give the  a couple of coats of clear sealer instead of modpodge.)
And there you have a little bit of Chrstmas DIY...
 Fabulous 'JOY' and 'BELIEVE' signs.
The DIY Christmas sign creating did not end there...
a 'REINDEER PARKING ONLY' sign
was a definite much needed addition to the front porch,
so for that, I used a precut MDF star.
Painted it red.
Printed my lettering
(again using computer and home printer)...
Touched up the black lettering with a paint marker pen...
Cut around the letters so it was tidy...
Modpodged on to the star board.
then painted in the same red used for the background
around each black letter,
(so the printed background blended better).
Modpodged over it all to seal it.
Then strung some natural string on it so it could be hung.

Fun DIY Christmas signs..
to welcome Christmas into your home.
