To create a portfolio of photographs for the book project.
And to continue to inspire others.

Malteser Truffles...

Truffle recipes
Love Maltesers? Love chocolate?
Then these goodies are for YOU?
Truffle recipes
I have used my Mama's delicious unbaked slice recipe to encase Maltesers.
Once rolled in balls, dipped some in milk chocolate, as well as dusting some with dark cocoa powder.
Christmas Baking
In a large pot melt and mix:
150 grams butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 3/4 cup caster sugar, and 2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder.
Cool slightly, and add two lightly beaten eggs.  Mix well.
Add 250 grams finely crushed plain vanilla biscuits. Mix into the chocolate mixture.
(Note the plastic bag/rolling pin crushing technique.
One must improvise when the food processor decides to break!)
Mix into the chocolate mixture.
Truffle recipes
This mixture is quite moist.
Take a single Malteser from its packet.
Truffle recipes
Use clean WET hands to encase the Malteser in the mixture.
Truffle recipes
Roll into balls and place onto wax paper to set.

Painted leaves with Christmas Wording....

Funk up Christmas with some painted word leaves.
An easy project that is quick to do.
I used rubber plant leaves.  But any big leaf will do.
These are freshly picked,

and then spray painted front and back.
Of course you can paint them any colour you want.
I chose gold to match my Christmas decor.
Once sprayed, leave for a few hours to dry.
Then used a vivid maker pen to write your word on the leaf.
I used a simple block lettering, but you could use a fancy calligraphy style if you wish.
Then place in your decor.
Mine are on some white tulle at the base of the Christmas tree.

You could also use them:
On a platter around  a candle.
As name labels for a dinner table setting.
Punch a hole and thread with ribbon and hang on the tree.

A little funky leaf fun - perfect for Christmas decorating with four ways to use them.

The Christmas Table Display...

This years Christmas tabletop display is red, white with a tablecloth of Christmas patterned blue.
In the centre of the table is a white gorgeously scented candle in a glass container.
Red painted wooden baubles (a pre-made garland from the Ezibuy Christmas range) surround this on the platter...
I love Christmas quirkiness,
so these matches with a deer design on the box are a perfect addition for candle lighting.
I found them at a local Whakatane gift store.

Behind the platter sits the shabby pot with the stitched Christmas decorations.
(To find out how to make these visit: stitched card christmas ornaments)
I added a few....
OK - I added 'A LOT' of red and white candy canes.
Candy canes are perfect for pre-Christmas day snacking.
My grandson taught me this!
A wrap of tulle in white pretties up the shabby white pot.
A blackboard reindeer cut-out finishes the display!
What fun to change the message week by week...
Last week it said 'Santa's Coming!'
I love that little gingham bow on the reindeer's neck!
I hope you are inspired to put a little bit of Christmas on your dining table too.

The Dahlia Birthday Cake...

We are deviating a little from Christmas as it really was a case of
"How could I not share with you the most gorgeous cake"?
Made as a surprise for my recent 'Big Event' birthday
by Cake Works
I am in total awe at the work involved in creating this AMAZING dahlia flower
- made from icing!
Stunning and gorgeous, in one of my favourite colours.
What a wonderful surprise organised by my beautiful daughter!
