Deconstructed Framed Paper Flower...

The 'Deconstructed Framed Paper flower is incredibly easy to create.
It's a super handcrafted gift idea.

To make you will need:
An old music sheet
A sheet of pretty craft paper.
A cd to use as a circle guide.
A box type frame that is sized 9 x 7 inches
Craft Glue
Pen & scissors

Step One:  Place cd on the music sheet and draw a circle.

Cut out the circle.

Cut a spiral as shown.

In pen draw wavy edges on the outer edge of the cut spiral.
Cut them out.

Step Two: Cut the pretty craft paper to fit the inside of the frame.
Use the frames mat as a guide.

Step Three:  Manipulate the music sheet swirl into flower shape.
Then let it deconstruct.
Place onto your craft paper that has been cut to the frame size,
and glue in about three spots to hold it in place.
It will have a 3 dimensional look.

Step Four: Place in the frame (without the mat)

I love the soft neutral and pastel colours...
lovingly crafted...
Now that's a special thing to gift.

DIY Jar Of Roses Bookend...

DIY Bookend
This DIY 'Jar Of Roses'  Bookend is super simple to make...

And the perfect solution to the 'book slide' shelf problem.

You will need some artificial roses in the colour of your choice.
I chose pink because the moth artwork on the shelf above has pink in it.

 You will need a jar.
I used a square storage jar from Briscoes.
It is a 946ml one and really heavy.
They are $19.99 full price, but I waited until they were on sale and of course got a bargain.  :)

Arabella (The Mia Bella Passions Blog creation inspector) had to approve!
 You may proceed!

Next I found some old brooches and bits.

And placed one bling pretty in the front panel of the jar.
To hide the plastic seal on the lid,
I tied a pink gauze ribbon into a small bow.

The weight of the jar holds the books upright.
Hooray - no more book slide!
The 'Jar Of Roses' Bookend looks super pretty too...
pink and bling - what more could a girl want?

Let Me Tell You All About 'Fairy Bread'...

What is Fairy bread?
Fairy bread is white bread that has been buttered and sprinkled with 'Hundreds and Thousands' then cut into triangles to serve.

What are 'Hundreds and Thousands'?
Hundreds and thousands are sprinkles that are very small balls made from coloured sugar, in blue, green, pink, green, yellow, orange and white.

Where did Fairy Bread Originate from?
Fairy bread is an age old tradition 'down under' both in Australia and New Zealand and is relatively unknown in other parts of the world.

No one is really sure who invented the Fairy Bread idea, but there has been reference to it as early as 1929 as an Australian childrens party food.
Another theory is it was inspired from Robert Louis Stevenson's poem of the same name 'Fairy Bread', from 'The Child's Garden Of Verse' dated 1885.
The truth is - no one really knows 'Fairy Breads' origins.

When do you eat Fairy Bread?
Fairy bread is a treat for special occasions and is a firm favourite for children's birthday parties.
(Both with the children and the adults!)

What's the latest fairy bread trend?
That would be to cut the fairy bread into shapes using cookie cutters as a guide to cut out the bread shape rather than serving the traditional four triangles.

Emilee Rose is very happy with her fairy bread picnic...which is another treat activity for some fairy fun!

'What is not to love about Fairy Bread?'.
